The Amazon has removed their products, because their list “hoverboards” (battery powered, electric skateboards) on Amazon.com and their hoverboard listings have been removed. If they would like to resume selling hoverboards on Amazon.com, they need to provide documentation and written confirmation.
The documentation is to show their list are compliant with applicable safety standards, including UN 38.3 (battery), UL 1642 (battery), and UL 60950-1 (charger) and written confirmation that they will indemnify and defend Amazon against any claims of patent infringement, and the contact information of the lawyer that will defend them against any related claims. There is no doubt that it is a devastating blow to many small and medium sized enterprises.
